Each new member brings its own special uniqueness to the collection, but all share the essential characteristics of The Great Inns historical charm, first class food and hospitality, coupled with excellent wines and real ales.
The Rose & Crown at Romaldkirk in Teesdale, Co Durham enjoys a picture postcard setting, where, since 1733, the Inn has overlooked the village greens, complete with medieval stocks, water pump, Saxon church and charming stone built cottages. Sitting on the Scottish Borders,
The Horseshoe Inn at Eddleston near Peebles offers some of the finest dining in Scotland in an atmospheric former blacksmiths smiddy, just 30 minutes south of Edinburgh.
Entering into England,
The Shibden Mill Inn and
Grassington House are both located in Gods own county - Yorkshire. The 17th century Inn Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax, West Yorkshire nestles in the heart of the Shibden Valley. Beginning life as a corn and spinning mill it offers a warm, cosy atmosphere with period features in a picturesque setting.
